Camels

The products made from the camel milk obtained are processed on site. The approximately 5000 animals are cared for 7/24 by trained employees. The animals live in contrast to the mass animal husbandry in a large herd all in a large outdoor enclosure. The animals do not give milk if they do not feel comfortable in their environment.

Camel milk is a very good alternative for people with an allergy to cow's milk, as there are no known allergies to camel milk. The amount of allergenic proteins in camel milk is very low. When best chilled, camel milk initially tastes similar to cow's milk, but tastes saltier and creamy nutty. Machine milking is possible and is already practiced at Camelicious Farm. With repeated milking, an amount of 1.5 to 3 liters is achieved per day. Milking camels is much more laborious than cows. They can only be milked if the calf has been suckled beforehand, and only then can machine milking begin. The foals must also stay by their side during the milking process and suck the remaining milk of their mother after the milking process. All employees of the camel farm who take care of the animals' well-being are educated and trained in handling camels. Camel milk is already used to make many dairy products such as ice cream, yogurt, chocolate and soap. Also it can be cooked excellently with the rich camel milk. You can find some recipes on our site.
